I have been trying to re-create my business card for the last three hours. Tempers have flared and to say that I have gotten a little frustrated would be an understatement. You should know that it was my temper that flared. I thought it was only natural to make it seasonal and have the ability to make as many versions as I like depending upon the season. Pretty clever, I'm thinking.
Yes, I am patting myself on the back.
Back to the real point of this post. In my frustrations of re-creating my card due to a lost file, I found some pictures that I thought you might enjoy. Did I ever tell you that I made hammocks for my watermelons last year?
Yes, hammocks.
I used pantyhose and would you believe that my faithful helper refused to help?
Ungrateful little...after all the things I've done.
These were Moon & Stars watermelons, and the few that ripened were great. I really planted them too late, so they didn't get the jump on the heat that they needed. There were a few flaws with the first attempts at letting them rest in the hammocks, but it was a great space-saving idea that kept these vines off the ground and up on this fence. I will re-visit this in the spring.
Hope these made you smile...they had me laughing and I really needed that.
Oh watermelons, sweet memories of summer. The front is here and I am sure before long you will see the dirt from my yard blowing over your place soon. BRRRRRR please post more summer vegetable pictures so I can dream again of long lovely summer days. PS. remind of this when it is 110 in the shade this summer. Have a good one and bundle up those chickens.
ReplyDeleteEveryone tucked in here...we are as ready as we can be. I spent a lot of time browsing the summer pictures last night. I will spend some time tomorrow drawing up some garden plans and maybe placing some seed orders. One thing about those 110 days, you can run through the sprinkle if you have to.
